Charles "Mask" Lewis Jr. founder of Tapout passes away in early morning crash







The colorful founder of the popular MMA clothing company "Tapout" was involved in a automobile accident early Wednesday morning. Mask was pronnounced dead after his Ferrari slammed into a utility poll. A police cruiser that witnessed the crash also, saw a white porsche involved in the accident fleeing the scene. The porsche was later found and the driver Jeffrey David Kirby, a 51-year-old resident of Costa Mesa, CA was arrested and charged with vehicular Manslaughter and driving under the influence.





Tapout released this statement Wednesday afternoon:
“It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we must regretfully confirm the passing of our beloved friend, brother and co-founder Charles 'Mask' Lewis following a car accident that occurred last night. We are currently in the process of setting up a memorial service in his honor and will release more details as they become available.

"Many thanks to all for the outpouring of blessings and well-wishing during this incredibly difficult time.”

Charles "Mask" Lewis was 45 years old.
