WEC Lightweight Champ Jaime Varner and Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone re-match

WEC Lightweight Champion Jaime Varner and Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone rumored re-match could take place later this summer. The two had originally fought in a very entertaining five round championship bout in January.

Jamie Varner was booed after he was unable to continue, due to an idadvertant eye poke from Cerrone and ended up winning a close decision. Varner also, sustained a broken foot and at first thought that his eye injury was possibly career ending. After further medical testing, Varner is expected to recover fully from his injuries and will be ready to face Cerrone a second time.

  1. Who do you think won that fight? Man, Varner overexaggerated the knee...actin' like he was blind. He desrved to get booed.

  2. I think that Varner was gassing at the end and Cowboy Cerrone would have finished him. But, because they had to go to the cards due to Varner's injury Cerrone didn't have the opportunity to end the fight. I think Varner deserved the win based on the ten point must scoring system but that Cerrone would have won had it continued. In the re-match I am going to go with Cowboy to defeat Varner by TKO.
